Unlawful Breaking & Entering A Vehicle Arrest

Troy Police arrested 33-year-old Melvin Jones, a black male from Clayton, AL in connection with the unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle on August 29, 2011 according to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis.
The breaking and entering of the vehicle occurred between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm in August in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Troy. TPD observed video surveillance from video cameras at Wal-Mart that provided police with a description of the suspect and the suspect vehicle.
The property stolen was identified as two Fujitsu Scanners valued at a total of $1,800.00. One of the scanners has been recovered from the suspect's residence.
The suspect vehicle, a green Ford F150 pickup was observed in the parking lot of Wal-Mart Tuesday afternoon by TPD officers. A subsequent investigation led to the identity of Jones in connection with this case. A warrant for his arrest was obtained Tuesday afternoon and he was arrested at approximately 4:55 pm.
Jones was transported to the Troy Police Department and later transferred to the Pike County Jail with a bond of $2,500.00.
