C.A.T. Training

The Troy Police Department's Collision Avoidance Training Program next class will be held February 22 and 23 according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage.

The Collision Avoidance Training (C.A.T.) program is an advanced defensive driving and vehicle control program designed for teenage licensed drivers. The two day program is designed to provide young drivers with the knowledge and understanding of the forces created by an automobile and the effects of the forces on the human body.

There is a $25.00 registration fee for taking the course. Registration forms can be obtained by going to www.troypd.com and clicking on C.A.T. Forms and printing them from the website. You may also contact TPD Sgt. Benny Scarbrough at 670-2225 and request forms and he will make arrangements for those individuals interested in taking this course to obtain the forms. When the forms are filled out they should be returned to Sgt. Scarbrough by February 15.

On Friday February 22, students will meet at the Troy Municipal Courtroom on Walnut Street for the 4 hour classroom course at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday February 23, students will meet at Troy Municipal Airport at 7:30 a.m. for the driving / skills part of the course that will last approximately 8 hours.
