Search Warrants Executed

Alabama Beverage Control agents and the Troy Police Department executed a search warrant on the 800 block of North 3 Notch Street at approximately 9:00 a.m. Friday according to Troy Police Chief Jimmy Ennis and Lt. Lance Price of the Alabama Beverage Control Board.
John Williams Baker, a 58 year-old black male was arrested for possession of alcohol for sale without a license and possession of untaxed alcohol (moonshine).
Baker was transported to the Troy City Jail where he was incarcerated. His bond is $500.00 in each case.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Baker is wanted by the Bay County Sheriff's Office in Panama City, Florida for a September 1992 sexual battery in Bay County.
A hold has been placed on Baker awaiting his extradition back to Florida.
On Thursday night February 9th at approximately 6:00 p.m., Alabama Beverage Control agents and officers from the Troy Police Department executed a search warrant on the 200 block of Oakland Heights Drive and arrested Jimmie Lee Smith, a 70-year-old black male. Smith was arrested for possession of marijuana 2nd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol for sale without a license and possession of untaxed alcohol (moonshine). His bond was set at $500.00 in each case and he was released from the Troy City Jail Thursday night on bond.
