Unlawful Breaking & Entering Vehicle Arrest

Troy Police arrested Jimmy Smiley, 44 years old from Troy Tuesday (3/18) at approximately 5:30 p.m. in connection with the March 11 unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle on University Avenue according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage. Police made contact with Smiley Tuesday afternoon in a parking lot on South Brundidge Street in connection with an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. His behavior became disorderly with officers and Smiley was arrested for disorderly conduct and was transported to the Troy Police Department. A witness observed a black male in the victim's vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex on University Avenue. The suspect fled the scene on foot running behind the apartments on the 200 block of University Avenue. Smiley was placed in the Troy City Jail for the unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and disorderly conduct. His bonds have been set at $2,500.00 for unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and $500.00 for disorderly conduct. He has been transferred to the Pike County Jail. ![]() |
