Troy Police arrested Demone Antonio Austin, 32 years old from Troy, in connection with a shooting that occurred Saturday March 22 in Troy according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage.

Austin turned himself into police Monday (3/24) and was arrested on a warrant for assault second degree. His bond has been set at $25,000.00 in this case and was later transferred to the Pike County Jail.

Troy Police responded to the alleged shooting at approximately 12:30 p.m.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene on a large white SUV and last seen traveling east on Elm Street headed toward George Wallace Drive.

The victim was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center's Emergency Room where he was treated for a gunshot wound.
