US HIGHWAY 231 ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR MONDAY APRIL 14. If the current weather forecast for Monday stays the same, officials at Alabama Department of Transportation indicate that the road construction will move from US 231 to US Highway 29 (Luverne Highway) Monday. The road construction will be in the area of the access ramps near the overpass over 231 and Highway 29. Vehicle traffic is urged to use caution and if possible avoid this construction area. If the weather is warmer the site of the road construction will change to the north lane of US 231 near Franklin Drive. The direction of travel of the road construction will be north on US 231 between Franklin Drive, George Wallace Drive, and AL Highway 87 (Elba / Enterprise Highway). Motorist should use caution when traveling in this area or if possible use an alternate route avoiding this area. CSX RAILROAD CROSSING CONSTRUCTION FOR MONDAY APRIL 14. The railroad crossings at South Three Notch Street and Walnut Street behind the Troy Police Department will be closed Monday morning for repair. The repair and construction of the crossings could have both closed until Tuesday. Vehicular traffic in these areas should use caution and use an alternate route of travel. Further updates of construction in these areas will be released to the public as it becomes available. |
