Attempted Murder Arrest

Troy Police arrested Charles E Williams, a 69-year-old black male, from Troy Sunday at 7:15 A.M. in connection with a shooting at a house on the 1100 block of North Three Notch Street according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage.
The incident was reported to TPD at 2:43 A.M. Sunday. Police received a call that a person had been shot and was being transported by private owned vehicle to the Troy Regional Medical Center's Emergency Room.
Damien Alexander Johnson, a 27-year-old black male from Clayton, Alabama has been identified as the victim in the shooting. Johnson was shot two times by a small caliber handgun. Johnson was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham in serious condition.
TPD officers responded to the 1100 block of North Three Notch Street where they made contact with Williams. The officers recovered a 32 caliber handgun from him. The gun was seized by officers and taken into evidence. Williams was detained an transported to the Troy Police Department for further investigation. The subsequent investigation led to Williams arrest for attempted murder.
Williams was transported to the Pike County Jail and his bond was set at $100,000.00.
This case is still under investigation by Troy police.
In an unrelated incident Troy police are also investigating a shooting that occurred on Warren Court on Saturday night at approximately 10:30 P.M.
