Rabid Fox

The Alabama Department of Public Health notified the Pike County Health Department today about a fox killed in Troy Saturday that tested positive for rabies.

The Troy Police Department responded to a call at Hillside Mobile Home Park Saturday at approximately 1:30 p.m. in connection with an animal bite. Police were advised that the victim was bitten by a fox. The fox was killed by police and turned over to John McKeller with the Pike County Health Department to be tested for rabies by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
