ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE

Troy Police arrested Cedrick Lamar Poole a 30-year-old black male from Troy today after he attempted to elude police Thursday morning at approximately 11:00 a.m. according to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis.
Officers executed traffic stop on a 1991Mercury Cougar for a switched tag on College Street. The vehicle appeared to comply with officers when it then attempted to elude police. The vehicle traveled on several streets, through a construction zone on Elm Street and turned onto Park Street where the vehicle left the road and the driver bailed out of the car as it ran through a fence an came to rest in the parking lot of Skyview Apartments on Park Street.
Poole has been charged with assault 2nd degree (aggravated assault on a police officer-strong arm), switched tag, attempting to elude a police officer, reckless endangerment and driving without first obtaining a license. He had two outstanding warrants for domestic violence and contempt of court.
The assault 2nd charge is a felony and his bond is $25,000.00 in that case. Misdemeanors for attempting to elude has a $500.00 bond and reckless endangerment has a $750.00 bond. He also received tickets for the switched tag and driving without first obtaining a license.
